Marie Barret is the author of All In, Sandy Can't Get Me Down and Ms. Irene Is So Demanding. Writing children's books has been a natural progression for her due to over two decades of teaching inner city kids from NYC to Georgia.

 

Although she spent most of her life hiding the fact that her middle name is Severe, her books seem to focus on events that have been severe in nature. In her stories, she highlights how our humanity and community come to life in the midst of tragedy.
