Although she spent most of her life hiding the fact that her middle name is Severe, her books seem to focus on events that have been severe in nature. In her stories, she highlights how our humanity and community come to life in the midst of tragedy.

She spends her time with her kids in a moo moo and hair bonnet and finds different ways to incorporate travel in her schedule. Find her on the web at www.barretbooks.com
